I was over at the high school today for a local little kids wrestling camp and I thought that with Fargo Junior and Cadet Nationals just around the corner and then not a lot of youth wrestling happening until late fall, it would be a good idea to blog about off season training.

What are you doing this summer that will make you a winter champion?

I’m reminded of an old wrestling t-shirt that said, “Summer Camps make Winter Champs.”

It was true when the shirt was first made 30 years ago and it is true today. You need to be doing something this summer in order to be competative next wrestling season.

Are you cross-training, weight training, eating right? You should be.
